A growing number of people are turning to boat camping as a great and inexpensive way to enjoy nature. While pontoon boats are the traditional model for many boat camping experts, many are turning to center console boats in certain types of fishing situations.
The Fun Of Boat Camping
Boat camping is a surprisingly fun activity for a variety of reasons. First of all, it lets you sleep on the water in a relaxing and fun environment. Secondly, it lets you sleep under the stars and feel the relaxing power of the cool night air on your face. Thirdly, it makes it easier for you to get up and go fishing without any delay. Fourthly, it makes it possible to go visiting islands on a large lake and to even camp there.
Many people choose to go camping on a pontoon boat for a variety of reasons. That is a very understandable choice. They are a larger boat that allows you more room to spread out and relax. You can even cook on a grill on these boats and bring along multiple people. However, their large size also adds to their cost and may make them more difficult to enjoy.
Thankfully, center console boats can be a great camping boat for the right circumstance. These smaller and more nimble boats are a great choice for those who are going fishing because they are easier to control and can get into smaller areas on the lake. However, there are other benefits to using one of these boats for camping.
Why Center Console Boats Are Advantageous
As mentioned above, center console boats are a little smaller and easier to maneuver than pontoon boats. However, they are also a great camping boat for a number of other reasons. First of all, they have many areas where you can store your items. These under-the-floor storage spots are perfect for food, changes of clothes, and other important camping items.
Secondly, they have a roomy place where you can lie down and sleep at night. While pontoon boats are going to be undeniably larger, the design of a center console boat allows more sleeping room than your average fishing boat. As a result, you can sleep at night on the waves, jump out of your sleeping bag, and get right back to fishing when the sun comes up.
Even better, they are usually a little easier to anchor than pontoon boats and can get closer to most islands, allowing you the chance to explore many different areas. So don't hesitate to invest in a center console boat if you plan on getting into boat camping.
